Obituary for Harold James Barton

Harold James Barton
October 19, 1938 to August 12, 2020

Harold passed peacefully in the comfort of St. Luke's Magic Valley in Twin Falls, ID with his beloved grandsons by his side.

Harold was born in Schafter, CA to James Homer Barton and Ethyl Marie Hayworth.
He followed in his father's footsteps as a rancher and laborer for most of his life. Harold was always a hard-working man who stayed humble, and if you knew him you knew he was a bit of a perfectionist. He believed that any job you do should be done right.
On November 10, 1956, Harold married Ramona Yvonne Walker. Together they had three sons and a daughter, Danny Pierce Barton, David Ray Barton, Tracey Lynn Hayhurst, and Russell (Rusty), Todd Barton.

On July 4th, 1973 Harold packed up the family and moved to a ranch in Paul, ID.  He eventually left the ranch and in the summer of 76, he bought his home in Heyburn, ID where he lived the remainder of his life.
Harold's first wife Ramona passed away in April of 1998.  Rather than spending the rest of his life alone, Harold remarried to Sherrie Ann Dunham on October 30th, 1998. Together they spent their days making each other laugh and truly enjoying each other's company and teasing one another. Harold truly loved and cherished Sherrie as she still loves and cherished him.
In his youth, Harold enjoyed hunting with his best friend Dennis and the guys.  Usually only bagging a hangover and great memories around the campfire. Later in life, Harold quit drinking and eventually retired from Layne Pumps.
He loved cutting firewood, landscaping, and gardening. Throughout his retirement, Harold spent most of his days working outside.

Harold is survived by his wife, Sherrie Barton; Daughter, Tracey Hayhurst; Son, David Barton; stepson, Don Nye; Brother, Orville Barton; grandsons Shawn Hayhurst and Tryrail Fackrell, and many other extended family.

He was preceded in death by both parents; his first wife, Ramona; two sons, Rusty and Danny; one brother, Jerry Barton; and his sister, Kathy Underwood.

Harold will be deeply missed by not only his loved ones but by everyone who ever had the honor of getting to know him.

Cremation is under the care of Serenity Funeral Chapel & Cremation Services of Idaho, Twin Falls. Condolences may be shared at www.serenityfuneralchapel.com.
