Obituary for Val Blick Clark

Valerie “Val” G. Clark, 72, of Twin Falls, ID, joined her Father in Heaven on Wednesday, March 4, 2021 at her home.

Val Clark was born in Twin Falls, ID in 1948. The family moved to South Dakota for a short period before settling in Buhl, ID where Val attended and graduated from Castleford High School in 1966. She attended the College of Southern Idaho for a short time before marrying Phil Blick and moving to Castleford, ID. She was a longtime member of the Castleford Petal Pals and the Magic Valley Tolers. One of her favorite memories was also the Saturday Night Pinochle group. Val relocated to Twin Falls, ID after her divorce where she lived for the remainder of her life.

Val had a passion for painting and flowers and left her mark on the world with the many beautiful projects she created. Her home was surrounded by beautiful rose bushes and her neighbors that were part of her extended family. She loved to bake and share delicious baked items with her family, friends, neighbors and church family. Her one true love was flowers, and her home was surrounded and filled with every color and variety all summer long. She also loved to be outside working in her yard. Although tole painting was her life’s most creative activity, she also enjoyed scrapbooking, card making, knitting, quilting, sewing, reading, and of course her crazy love for jigsaw puzzles. She was a long-time member of the Methodist Church, from her teens in Methodist Youth Fellowship in Castleford, to the Methodist Women’s Circle in Filer and everything in between. She spent many years in service to and always had great stories to tell from time spent with her church family.

Val’s proudest achievements in her life were her family. She loved and cared for her parents, her children, and her grandchildren with her whole heart. Spending time with all of them and caring for them brought her the most joy and receiving photos of them brought her great happiness. Her days were also filled with caring for and loving a young man, Kade, who referred to her as Grandma and she loved him and his mother Heather dearly.

Val is survived by her daughter, Juliet Blick (Anthony Colangelo) of Meridian, ID; her son, Daron Blick of Girdwood, AK; grandsons, AJ Ridgeway (Kristi) of Twin Falls, ID, Nicholas Ridgeway of Boise, ID, and Tyler Ridgeway (Renzee Sorenson) of Nampa, ID, and her mother, Margaret Brown of Twin Falls, ID; a brother Darol (Ann) Brown of Portland, OR, and a sister, Susan (Jeff) Owens of LaPine, OR.
